Decode
Shrinkwright decodes through CGImageSource thumbnails — the same battle-tested imaging stack macOS itself uses. Decoding happens at the target size, so a 50-megapixel monster never balloons into memory.

Press
Pure Swift with a MenuBarExtra scene and an ObservableObject engine — no Electron, no webview, no helper daemons. It resizes, recompresses, and converts in a blink, sipping memory like a first-party macOS citizen.

Batch
Files are processed one at a time on a background queue with per-item progress, so a hundred-image batch never freezes the panel. Originals are never overwritten — shrunk files get a -shrunk suffix, with automatic de-duplication.

Seal
Shrinkwright makes zero network requests. No analytics, no crash reporting phoning home, no account, no sign-in. Your images never leave your Mac — the whole pipeline runs between the app and ImageIO.

Every file shows original size → new size and the exact percentage saved, so you can prove the diet worked.
